Attention, rant ahead. Because insomnia kept me up almost all night again, my head hurts and I'm slightly annoyed by the behaviour of some kiddo (I assume it's a very young person). Though looking back, I'm honestly not even surprised by the outcome of this situation.

Yeah, so I was drawing a picture for a DTA adopt (it's my most recent submission, will delete it later). Someone already asked for it but I asked the designer and they said I could still draw something as it was first come, first serve. They made it sound like that meant the one who drew it first would get the adopt. They also didn't say anything when I said I was working on something. They didn't tell me to stop. Not once. By what they said, it seemed okay to try my luck.

So I submitted my picture before the other person but the designer completely ignored my comment and picture. About 15 minutes later the other person submitted their piece and the one who made  the adopt immediately commented on it.
Afterwards they told me that someone already got the adopt. I  reminded them that I did the picture first though and they said something along the lines of "She asked first, plus friends come first."
Wait what? Couldn't you have told me that, I dunno, a bit earlier maybe, hm? Or put it in the, what are they called again, RULES?
Am I wrong for being a bit annoyed by this? Honestly I feel somewhat cheated.
Of course, the designer gets to decide what happens to the adopt. But they had more than one chance to be clear about it and they never said a thing. In fact, they made it look as if I had a chance, as long as I submitted my picture first.
For future reference, if you are so biased and unprofessional about this you shouldn't put up some bullshit rules and instead just say in the first place that you will decide at random will.
Just needed to get this off my chest. It is something so minor  compared to my actual real problems, but it still slightly bothered me. I'm just glad I didn't actually finish the journal doll.
Now I'm gonna try and find some cool adoptable designers who are being more professional than that kid.

EDIT: Okay. Calmed down now. I was just rather disappointed, because I really tried so much to submit something in time and make it look good and not too rushed at the same time, and I was happy because I thought I made it. I just felt treated unfairly. But it's fine now. Maybe I should resume to buy adopts with points. Or just keep designing my characters myself. I like those the most anyway. But I guess some of you know that feeling when you see that one adoptable that seems just right.

That sounds really sketchy

As mostly anyone would, I like to give my close friends personal priority, but not when it comes to contests such as DTA's

I have rules I lay down that everyone has to follow so such adopts are sold in a very fair manner

Sorry that happened ;; I'd be pretty disgruntled too
